Help with Choosing Materials

The following describes the different material and finishings that are used for our products:

Business cards

  • 350gsm Silk
    This is a thick business card (350gsm) with a silky smooth feel.
    Note, if you have dense colour that touches the edge on both sides, then we recommend going for the Matt Laminated option.
  • 350gsm Matt Uncoated
    This is a thick business card (350gsm) with a Matt feel. You will be able to feel the grain of the material.
    Note, if you have dense colour that touches the edge on both sides, then we recommend going for the Matt Laminated option.
  • 400gsm Matt Uncoated
    This is a thick business card (400gsm) with a Matt feel. You will be able to feel the grain of the material in areas where the ink isn't very dense.
    Note, if you have dense colour that touches the edge on both sides, then we recommend going for the Matt Laminated option.
  • 455gsm Smooth Silk
    This is a thick business card (455gsm) with a silky smooth feel.
  • 350gsm or 400gsm Matt Laminated Card
    This is a thick Matt business card.
    A thin coating of matt lamination is applied to the card to give it a sophisticated and smooth look and feel which also enhances the durability of the card.
    Please note: The lamination is not the same as the thick plastic you may have seen on membership cards. Your business card will look very professional.
  • 500gsm Matt Laminated Card
    This is a thick Matt business card.
    A thin coating of matt lamination is applied to the card to give it a sophisticated and smooth look and feel which also enhances the durability of the card. Including lamination, this weighs approximately 500gsm.
    Please note: The lamination is not the same as the thick plastic you may have seen on membership cards. Your business card will look very professional.
  • 500gsm Gloss Laminated Card
    This is a thick Gloss business card.
    A thin coating of gloss lamination is applied to the card to give it a sophisticated and smooth look and feel which also enhances the durability of the card. This lamination brings out the colour in your card and makes it look shiny. Including lamination, this weighs approximately 500gsm.
    (Although, the gloss lamination can result in very sharp edges as the gloss lamination is a tougher material than the matt lamination)

Leaflets and Flyers

  • 130gsm Gloss
    This has a premium quality glossy finish and is the most common type of leaflet material.
    The 130gsm Gloss is normally heavier than the leaflets you may receive as junk mail.
  • 170gsm Silk
    This has our most luxurious finish and has a semi-gloss finish.
    The 170gsm Silk is usually alot heavier than the leaflets you may receive as junk mail or even from most printers. We can supply lighter and heavier leaflets if requested (usually at a similar price).
  • 300gsm Silk
    The 300gsm version is a little lighter than business card material. This is often referred to as a thin card and has a semi-gloss finish. For heavier material, please look at our Postcards.

Postcards/Folded Postcards

  • 350gsm Silk
    This is a thick postcard (350gsm) with a silky smooth feel.
  • 350gsm Matt Laminated Postcard
    This is a thick Matt Postcard (350gsm).
    A thin coating of matt lamination is applied to the card to give it a sophisticated and smooth look and feel which also enhances the durability of the card. Including lamination, this weighs approximately 360gsm.

  • 350gsm Gloss Laminated Postcard
    This is a thick Gloss Postcard (350gsm).
    A thin coating of gloss lamination is applied to the card to give it a sophisticated and smooth look and feel which also enhances the durability of the card. This lamination brings out the colour in your card and makes it look shiny. (Although, the gloss lamination can result in very sharp edges as the gloss lamination is a tougher material than the matt lamination)

Letterheads and Compliment Slips

  • 120gsm Matt
    This is typically 50% heavier than (80gsm) photocopier paper. Our letterheads are guaranteed for use on laser printers.
